Nico Vandaele (PhD in Business Engineering, Operations Management and Operations Research, 1996) is full professor at KU Leuven since 2007, teaching courses in operations research, operations management, supply chain management and health systems design. Started with a research focus on (bio-pharma) supply chains, in the last decade, embedding the supply chain in broader health systems became a key research topic. Within the Access-To-Medicines Research Centre, both qualitative and quantitative models for health systems are build, applied to immunization, vaccination, antivirals, medical devices, pandemic preparedness, among others. Geographically we have a strong collaboration with African, South-American and European partners.
