LogiPharma 2023: Day 1 round-up
At Le Centre de Congrès de Lyon, Tuesday morning saw the beginning of what would be the biggest instalment of the world’s leading life sciences supply chain event – LogiPharma 2023.
Day one was undoubtedly a success, as supply chain leaders gathered in meeting rooms, masterclasses and panel discussions to network, learn and benchmark. The morning began with a blockbuster opening presentation, where George Beres and Lana Burrell from Roche spoke to us about redesigning the supply chain and boosting patient centricity.
The opening sessions which followed included case studies on digital transformation, end-to-end product orchestration and driving sustainability. Located in the packed-out Amphitheatre, the opening sessions truly set everyone up perfectly for the insightful conversations that would come.
Attendees were then led into the exhibition hall, which soon became filled with the buzz of insightful conversations, the smell of fresh coffee coming from the barista coffee stands, and even a basketball hoop.
After the morning networking break, and the masterclasses that followed, attendees were able to split up into various meeting rooms across several different tracks. From advancing strategy and driving a data-driven supply chain, to mastering temperature-controlled operations and optimising interconnected logistics, there was something for everyone.
A particularly pertinent panel discussion, amidst the backdrop of historic levels of inflation, was a panel discussion on managing fluctuating costs and capacities in partnership, where the panel gave great insight into how we can collaborate with our logistics and distribution partners.
Soon after the networking lunch, where attendees recharged and re-energised, we opened the innovation zone. In an interactive format, attendees were able to discover the latest innovations and solutions sweeping across the industry.
The afternoon was then filled with even more masterclasses, panel discussions and great case studies from our amazing speakers. Jocelyn Hallum from EY, gave an insightful speech on the great supply chain reset, and its impact on planning.
As the first day drew to a close, the final keynote was conducted by John Volanthen, the mastermind behind the Tham Luang Cave Rescue in Thailand. In an incredibly moving, insightful and thought-provoking speech, John took the audience through the events that took place during the rescue, and what they can teach us about risk management, innovation and teamwork.
It was clear that attendees had made the most of day one in Lyon, and that they were all looking ahead to even more of the unrivalled speeches, keynotes and networking over the coming days, that only LogiPharma can bring.
