We sat down with Dave Malenfant, Director Centre for Supply Chain Innovation, TCU Neeley School of Business to discuss his involvement in LogiPharma this year, alongside how the pharma industry has been impacted by COVID-19, and the importance of innovative solutions to keep up with demand.
How has COVID-19 changed your role and the demands on your team?
COVID has changed the way we look at supply chain. The ‘hoarding’ and shortages that were created has put unbelievable pressure on all supply chain professionals to look at innovative solutions to make their supply chain more mature.
Do you think it's possible that this crisis has indirectly sparked any positive change in the industry?
Yes, it has accelerated the digitization of the supply chain and business as a whole. The Pharma and Med Device industries were behind in the digital transformation. This crisis has accelerated the urgency and we are seeing a lot of good things happening in the industry.
