Finnair Cargo specialises in speed and quality, flying valuable temperature-sensitive products the short Northern route between Europe, Asia and America through its strategic Helsinki gateway. The Nordic airline was the first in the world to be awarded the IATA CEIV Pharma excellence certificate and it offers daily connections between Helsinki and Brussels, enhanced with an A350 belly cargo service twice a week feeding its extensive network in Asia and the US.
Finnair Cargo’s new terminal at Helsinki Airport is named the COOL Nordic Cargo Hub because of its advanced temperature-control technology and modern sophistication. The 80M-euro cargo terminal opened for full operations at the start of 2018. COOL is the best example in Europe of how robotics and intelligent warehouse automation can target and improve efficiency in air freight. The COOL hub provides the levels of automation required to meet the demands of a paperless, more efficient digital future and is designed for the expansion of Finnair’s A350 fleet that will double long-haul cargo capacity by 2020.
